I believe that as an artist my largest role is to create a nonverbal translation of the current perceptions of the human condition within our society.    While the universe is perfect, and our world chaos, it is important to incorporate polarized views along with the principles of wabi-sabi decay.  Right and wrong, day and night... are the polar struggles inflicted by the chaotic nature of the very planet we live in.   When we start to look at the Earth, and its own structural qualities, we may find it easier to see ourselves, our own abilities and struggles, and see the Universe within our own bodies, minds, and souls.  In my hand painted glass I try to convey the "big bang" universal  aesthetic, and place the glass within the metal sculptures to convey the unexplainable phenomina of the piece.  The metal images are all anthropomorphic abstract translations of a figure in motion- and the motion is the conveyance of emotion.  Wrather a piece is inflight, dance, strong stanz, or grounded, the movement of the metal depicts the human condition in each piece.
